Charles Burnex

Between ancient mythologies and contemporary cultures

Born in 2003, Charles Burnex lives and works in Paris. Trained at École Boulle, he develops a multidisciplinary artistic practice in which painting, drawing, ceramics, metal sculpture and textiles come together to form a distinctive visual language.

His universe takes shape at the boundary between reality and imagination. Drawing on both ancient mythologies and contemporary cultures, Charles Burnex develops his own repertoire of forms, figures and symbols. Intense colors, organic forms and more synthetic elements confront and echo one another in compositions where the strange, the marvelous and the familiar seem to be in constant dialogue.

His career began on the streets of Paris before gradually moving into exhibition spaces, galleries and private collections. This progression reflects the growing interest his work has attracted among collectors, as well as among prominent figures and influential members of the art world who now support the development of his practice and foster new artistic collaborations.

His work quickly became part of an international trajectory through various projects and exhibitions across Europe. Notably, he presented “Les Rêves du Gardien” (“The Guardian’s Dreams”), a solo exhibition in Venice, and took part in “Joies d’Artistes – Homenatge an Elsa Peretti” at the Fundació J. Llorens Artigas in Gallifa, near Barcelona, where his work was shown alongside works by Elsa Peretti, Pablo Picasso and Joan Miró.

At the beginning of 2026, Charles Burnex continued his research in Ibiza during an artist residency at CICADAS. This experience offered him a new territory for experimentation and contributed to the evolution of his artistic language.

A new chapter in his career is now opening with his arrival at Noran Gallery in Marrakech. For this occasion, Charles Burnex conceived a body of work specifically for the gallery, inspired by Morocco. Moroccan traditions, forms, colors, symbols and imaginaries enter into dialogue with his own artistic vocabulary, giving rise to a collection created especially for Marrakech.

This presence in Morocco further strengthens the international dimension of his work. Despite his young age, Charles Burnex is attracting growing interest from collectors and art-world professionals. This momentum is now leading him to develop new projects and collaborations that will be gradually unveiled over the coming years.
