Julien Allègre

Julien Allègre explores sculpture, ceramics and the trace of the hand through pieces where material remains central.

Biography

An organic, silent sculpture

Julien Allègre is a self-taught artist. Since 2001, driven by an inner creative force, he has continuously deepened his mastery of steel and specialised in sculpture.

He built his own training. A passionate musician, he first played drums and then the hang; that sensitivity to rhythm and resonance still inhabits his metal forms today. His perseverance has brought him long-term collectors and gallerists who have supported his work over the years.

His sculpture displays a very personal, sensitive and timeless writing. For those who know how to contemplate it, it speaks of human fragility, roughness and depth. His beings, with their complex carnal envelopes, seem inhabited by ancestral times, guardians of an era who give us strength and serenity.

His works engage steel, bronze, copper, Corten and metallised effects. The forms can feel animal, vegetal, fossil or architectural, they keep a part of roughness and depth, as if each piece carried an ancient memory.

Today, Julien Allègre is internationally recognised. His recent exhibitions include solo shows at the Château de Munsbach (Luxembourg, 2025), Galerie Danielle Bourdette (Honfleur, 2025), Galerie Christine Colon (Liège, 2025), Point Rouge Gallery (Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, 2025), Fondation Villa Datris (Faire Corps, 2024), the Aix-en-Provence Biennial (Sculptures Matrices de la Paix, 2024), Galerie Menu Tiltas in Vilnius (2023), Galerie Capazza (Autre Monde, Nançay, 2023) and the KAUNAS National Art Museum in Lithuania (2021).

At Noran Gallery his work joins a reflection on the hand, the transformation of matter and the place of sculpture in contemporary space.
