Caroline Rennequin, the Paris-based painter represented by Noran Gallery, deploys in this gouache a vocabulary at once instinctive and learned, that of an artist who passed through École Estienne, Duperré and Arts Décoratifs before devoting herself to painting. Gesture, colour and matter speak with a vegetal presence that flows through her work.
Caroline Rennequin pursues, in parallel, a personal multidisciplinary practice in which the questions of elsewhere, of the intimate and the feminine, and the relationships between craft, popular culture, non-Western art and contemporary art take a central place.
Her latest series of 301 gouaches on paper, made in 2020, That's All Folks!, turns around the universal motif of the flower.
