Gouache painting on paper from the 'Flowers' series by Caroline Rennequin
H 80 / W 60 cm
This gouache by Caroline Rennequin belongs to a body of research she has pursued since her years with Isabel Marant, Annick Goutal and Jérôme Dreyfuss: a dialogue between colour, rhythm and matter, where gouache on paper becomes a living script. The gallery presents her work in Marrakech, in dialogue with the Moroccan setting that surrounds it.
Caroline Rennequin concurrently pursues a multidisciplinary personal artistic practice, in which questions of the foreign, the intimate, and the feminine, as well as the relationships between craftsmanship, popular culture, non-Western art, and contemporary art, hold a prominent place.
This is evidenced by her latest series of 301 gouache paintings on paper created in 2020, titled “That's All Folks!”, centered around the universal motif of the flower.
